2nd reel of this series (there's another one in the archives doesn't serve much of actual artists doing art, instead we mostly go to galleries and see art being appreciated by society folk. What really sets this apart is the film stock. What was going on there? It's nothing to do with the age of the film, but something must have happened with one reel of film before it was edited into the final product, because you can see some jump cuts from really bad footage to ok footage. The footage that is "bad" is not neccesarily so, but has interesting markings on it, that, after a whie, actually adds to the film. I dunno what they did, but it's sure is interesting.
